An everchanging canvas: Pininfarina signs digital frame Inkposter Duna

During Vegas' CES 2026, Pininfarina and partner PocketBook showcased Inkposter Duna: a branded A1 sized digital frame, capable of showcasing high-quality images, with paper-like conditions, no flares and up to a year worth of battery charge.

The device is built around the E Ink Spectra 6 color ePaper panel with Sharp IGZO backplane technology. It renders over 60,000 colors through microcapsules that behave like physical pigments, producing a matte, glare-free surface that visually replicates printed media. Once an image is rendered, it remains visible without any ongoing energy consumption.

Energy usage is limited exclusively to image updates, enabling a single charge to last up to one year under typical conditions. Even when the device is fully switched off, the displayed content remains visible in Power-Off mode, allowing for completely cordless installation without any permanent power connection.

InkPoster Duna is engineered for visually calm environments. It produces no blue light, heat, flicker, or audible noise, supporting visual comfort and focus in both residential and professional interiors by eliminating the sensory distractions associated with conventional digital displays.

More than 1 meter wide, InkPoster Duna is not to be thought as a TV or simple photo frame, rather a piece of furniture, for homes, hotels, restaurants and the likes. Pininfarina's soul comes out particularly in the matters of its precision-engineered aluminum frame as well as the use of stitched Alcantara, which is a high-performance fabric frequently utilized in high-end automotive interiors. To celebrate even further this collaboration, the InkPoster App will also house an exclusive collection of original design sketches from the Pininfarina archives, offering owners a glimpse into the Italian design house’s heritage.
